Quality

Quality Control receives the highest priority of corporate goals. Without an outstanding quality reputation our customers will not continue to come back to us for additional parts and service.

Quality control is practiced throughout the Northern Industrial organization. We are an approved and/or certified supplier to both Automotive and non-Automotive concerns. Northern Industrial has the capability of controlling the process from incoming raw material to finished parts. With the aid of Automotive guidelines, we routinely monitor all phases of our operation using SPC. We also use computers and mini-processors with SPC and quality related software. This holds true for all in-process data as well as incoming, outgoing, and Gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility (GR & R).

As of September 2010, 71 of the last 87 months, we have maintained a 0 PPM rating to a major automotive OEM. This was achieved while shipping up to one million parts per month. We have been third party registered for QS9000 and/or TS16949 since June 1998.

Our manufacturing processes are vertically integrated so the quality and integrity of our parts is controlled internally. An effort is made to bring as much of the necessary processing in house so that reliance on outside subcontractors is maintained at a minimum. Statistical process control is practiced throughout all operations on those characteristics specified by the customer or those deemed necessary due to manufacturing variability.

Our quality control laboratory is fully equipped so that all customers specifications are monitored to ensure 100 percent conformance. Gages and gaging equipment are verified and/or calibrated by laboratory personnel according to procedures using appropriate statistical techniques.
