Research & Development

Our engineering staff is always ready to assist in the development of new products or the continuous improvement of existing parts. Over the years our experiences lead us to the development of our PV Tester. PV is the engineering abbreviation of Pressure Velocity and defined as Pressure in pounds per square inch and Velocity in Feet per second. This is routinely referred to in the evaluation of Thrust Components.

We can isolate an application by taking customer supplied mating parts and running them against our products. We evaluate the resistance to torque or the Coefficient of Friction. We can duplicate engineering parameters such as speed, load, oil flow, oil pressure and oil temperature.

This allows us an opportunity to investigate part and/or process modifications or improvements and the impact on the application. This fine tuning of our product/process can help our customers determine the level of processing that is needed.

Its first success story was our ability to target a specific application in an OEM Transmission and replace an underutilized needle bearing with a drop in Sintered Metal Component. This saved our customer close to $1.00 per part or $2MM annually and was transparent to the existing design and assembly process.

We would like for this technology to go to work for you and your company. Our Engineering staff is a phone call or click away.

Research & Development Equipment

Pressure – Velocity (P.V.) Test equipment (custom designed) to test thrust performance, design and material. Adaptable to test applications utilizing customer supplied mating components. It utilizes electronically controlled and monitored oil pressure, oil flow, oil temperature, load (pressure), RPM (velocity) and Dynamic coefficient of friction. This equipment is located adjacent our Q.C. laboratory for supporting metrology services and a laboratory environment.
